Memorial for the murdered Jews of Europe Brandenburg GateWe were within walking distance to the city centre so decided to leave the bikes at the campsite and go and explore Berlin by foot. We walked around Berlin in 35c heat (Mum I lied it does get hot – we drank 2 litres of water each) and were exhausted by 4pm and were heading back to the campsite when an older couple stopped us and gave us their tickets onto a sight seeing open top bus – it basically covered what we had already seen but from a different angle and with commentary .We couldn’t help laughing on the bus as the commentator had a funny accent and used the letter R in place of the letter w, yes small things amuse small minds.
